This workshop will focus on statistical analysis using survey data, with Qualtrics serving as a prime source of such data collection. Researchers working with survey data must follow several key steps to ensure its suitability for further analysis. The process begins with data cleaning, followed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to establish reliability and validity of the data. Once these steps are completed, the data can be used for further analysis, such as regression or Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).

After going through this workshop, you will learn to:

  • Clean the survey data before you proceed to any statistical analysis
  • Understand non-response-bias test and common method variance test
  • Check for data normality and multi-collinearity
  • Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) by SPSS
  • Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) by AMOS
  • Check for data reliability and validity
  • Correlation and regression test

You are advised to bring your own laptop with SPSS 25 and AMOS 25, or higher version already installed. You may bring your data set and/or research problem with you to work simultaneously. Some example data will be provided for demonstration anyway.

Or you may be provided access to remote desktop. In that case you do not have to install the above software.

Associate Professor Himanshu Shee's HDR supervision focuses on equipping scholars with advanced skills in methodologies like Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), using tools such as AMOS-SEM and PLS-SEM. Under his mentorship, students not only undertake rigorous empirical and theoretical research but also achieve significant academic outputs, with publications in leading Q1 and Q2 journals. He is an experienced HDR supervisor and thesis examiner, contributing to the broader academic community through his expertise in SEM techniques. This wealth of experience makes him a sought-after mentor and examiner in his field.
